The Holidays are here!

and that means TIME to get SICK!

Every year since i can remember(practically all my life), i have always gotten really sick during either Thanksgiving or Christmas.

I am sick with the COLD now. So, i guess i got it early. That beats getting sick on Christmas and having to stay home while my family goes to a party.....(.i guess it mattered and effected me more when i was a younger. having to be home alone watching Rudoalph the rednose reindeer and sipping on chicken noodle soup w/ saltine crackers)

i need rest, and perhaps Nyquil.

Yuck.

I feel yucky.

(sneeze)

VIVA LA FEIST!!

LESLIE FEIST

By far one of the best female musicians my ears have ever encountered. She is right up there with the classics (nina simone/Billie holliday/Beth Gibbions/Julie Driscol...etc)

Saw her Live at the HOLLYWOOD bowl. Great show! (despite the drunken white chick sitting behind me and my lil sis taken about how much she wants mixed baby during fiest's 1st song)

2 lane Prision

Well, i had an interesting weekend. I DID I DID.

My plans seem to change rapidly, like the blazing fires of Orange County.

Where to begin???

hmm...

On saturday me and my Lovely Salina hit the road. Heading to L.A (i live in L.A, drive to bakersfield to pick her up, then bring her to walk to sweet/dirty streets of Hollywood)
Our plans were to arrive in L.A at noon, walk around melrose, grab a bite to eat, then head over to my place to watch a UFC event with my bro and Fam.

THAT DIDNT HAPPEN.

As i awoke on Saturday i got a voicemail from my mother warning me that there were some fires going on near one of the freeways i take back to L.A. My 1st instinct was to check the news and see if any of the freeways were going to be shut down. THEY WERE.
But, being the stubburn humaniod that i am, i knew there would be a detour back to L.A and that we might be adding atleast an hour to our already 1hr 30min trip. So, we went for IT! Salina got behind the wheel and for the 1st 30min seem to FLY past the other cars, the road looked more that perfect with no sign of bad traffic. That was until we reached the fires. The detour lead us to a freeway that i thought would be a breeze. get us to our destination quick. I was wrong...SOOO WRONG. The traffic was like a turtle barely walking up and suffering from the flu. IT WAS SUPER SLOW!! we inched our way on the highway. We had been on the road for almost 3hrs. We keep our composure for the greater part of the trip. That was until i realized we werent going to make it to L.A in time for the fighting event, let alone to shop, let alone EAT!. At one point salina put the car in PARK and jumped in the back seat while i(in the passenger seat) leaped to the drivers seat. All while in traffic. It was a swift/smooth move. Although i do recall my arm getting in the way of salina's foot while she jumped in the back...or vice versa.

I thought long and hard...i made the decsion to head back to where we started. BAKERSFIELD CA. i was utterly disapointed. More over i knew my brother was looking forward to watching this event with me(as was i). It has become a tradition with me and him to watch UFC event at my apartment with my dad(if he's not out of town watching over my grandmother). I felt horrible, not only physically for being stuck in a slow moving vehicle over 4hrs, but because i didnt make it to L.A.

on the lighter side, busting a U-turn on the highway felt great. The traffic heading back was clear as clear can be.

I actually learned alot being on the road. Learn to listen to my gut feelings....and to take HEALTHIER snacks for road trips. Pringles and salsa picante Corn nuts just will not cut it for me and salina anymore....i think we hit sodium delirium at one point in our trip....atleast i know i did...

Quote of the Week

This we know: All things are connected
like the blood that unites us.
We did not weave the web of life,
We are merely a strand in it.
Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.

Sign of the times

For starters, i would like to say i had a very grand 'ol weekend. Spent 1/3 of my weekend chillaxing at my apt(something i havent really done for months) Then the greater portion of the weekend was spent with my lovely Salina. Spent time in church, the hospital to visist her grandma, and a Mexican Swapmeet(mercado).

Today i was back to the Dull enriched photolab enviroment. (I must say that i was quite tired. Dont know why. i have just over 8hrs of sleep)

Story of the day:

A young girl had come in to develope some photographs she had taken over the weekend. her mom was SOO proud of her. Apparently she had went to a gathering with over 7,000 people. When i first heard that i told the mom "that's great she went to a gathering with that many people" "must have been for a good case" i thought seeing that the young girl had to be atleast 11yrs old.

After a few hours her prints were developed and i was shocked to see the results. The gathering the young girl had been in was a HUGE protest for Prop 8. The pictures i saw were abit saddening to me. Everyone seemed to be hateful/angery/bitter, and worst of all they were daming the name of God. I was shocked to say the least. I thought to myself, this young girl is fighting for something that she believes in, and yet doenst stand for?? Maybe a relative of hers is homosexual and is going through this termoil???

I sat back at work and really thought about all that was going on since the Nov 4th election.

So far, i dont quite understand the reaction to Prop 8 being past. Most gay couples seemed happy YEARS ago finally coming out and saying that they have a "Life partner" tons of gay couples to this day adopt children of thier own to start a family. Is all this chaos because they want the same benifits as married couples??

The way i see it...these "protests" are just showing the negative side of this whole ordeal. With signs of HATE, and disrespect.

God ment for all this to happen. "Man with Woman" And the fact that the law was passed proves that God still and WILL always have the last word in the matter.
I feel bad for those who protest against God. Not only the people in these lastest prop8 protests, but any that comes against God. Biggest example of challenging God or coming against him was the 1920's sinking of Titanic. The creator of the massive ship would always tell the press...."The Titanic is the greatest...NOT EVEN GOD HIM SHELF CAN SINK OUR SHIP, we would like to see him try." ...and we all know what happened there.

And thus

The glorious weekend is here.

Its been an awardly busy and tiring week. I realized the other day, i spend more time on the freeway than i do at work/home/doing the things i enjoy. Its sad. I need to find a different J.O.B. The photolab isnt treating me good what so ever. Theres hardly any work coming in...and i just sit on my tush 87% if the time. It gets tiring. I fatiuge. All i can do is hope and pray things get better in '09. A better job, better in dancing, oh and the biggest of all....if all goes well, i plan to marry my soulmate salina. God willing of coarse. Life is getting interesting as the days go by and the world ages.

I need to get away this weekend.

Need to strecth my God giving wings.

Why isnt there a saying "When lions ride horses"...
ohhh wait...i guess that it is possible from the looks of this photograph.
Seriously, isnt this a scary sight, seeing a lion jump on a horse and chase you. Cant a lion out run a horse....so wouldnt this be slowing the lion down???
geez. Im over thinking this whole concept. Im running on Peach ice tea and a Hersey Bar.

The Infamous....

was my favorite toilet

So,

at work (Photolab) we have an upstairs bathroom. We use a key to open a door that leads to steps which leads to a door. That door then leads to the bathroom. In between that small journey to my destination, i pass by many doors, a law office, Body conditioning Pilates, Graphic design studio, and a water fountian.

The point of this story is that my co-worker Sergio just recently shared with me a tragic story that took place in the bathroom that i visit atleast 3 times a day during my 8hr shift.

Years ago(5+) a worker at the near by store had made her way to the bathroom during her late night shift. At the time our small complex had an elevator. As she stepped into a the elevator she was accompanied by the buildings security guard....sadly he then grabbed her..covered her mouth...and carried her to the mens restroom, were he rapped and murdered the young woman.

Now, from reports this disturbing account happened at the back of the mens restroom....where i usually go(#1/2).
The back stall is far away from the restroom door. For some reason i once found comfort there, but not after i heard this story. Not going to lie, it gave me chills. That a sick person would do that.....not only was that disturbing, but the sheer fact that i was handling my personal business in the same place, possibly the EXACT SAME SPOT.......essh.

In reality, we are constantly walking on, passing by, sitting down, or visiting places with tragic histories. But, not all of us have the knowlege of those events.

I DO!...

Spoken words

Everyone wants to be apart of it

Some Fear it,
Some remember the "GOOD TIMES" when near it.

It's abused, Used, and accused.

The streets are its veins,
we are the vessels that give it life,
we are the vessels that take its life.

During the day it protects and attacks.

At night it scares and attracts.

Crowded with flies
Built on lies.

It is still beautiful.

Culture seems to be behind the wheel,
driving us from sanity to insanity.

Taking in a deep breath to enjoy its atmosphere
is deemed unhealthy.

And still we flock to it.

Branded in our soul, like wondering cattle.

It is,
It remains,
and will always be......

Unorthodox

What a case of the MONDAYS im having.
Sitting at work with little or nothing to do.
Had a LONG early drive back from Bakersfield this morning.

Had a great weekend though.

My agenda for this week: Work/Vote for McCain/Eat/ and most importantly TRAIN my tush off. I have an exhibition battle (breakdancing) in January, so i need to be in tip top Physical and mental shape. Which i know i will be.

Here are 2 of the "Unorthodox" breakdancers that really lead the way for untraditional breakdancing of my generation.

Autums Reign

Fall is here. Or so Cali feels it for the first time this year. Its been to hot, in an awkward way recently. But, as i sit looking at the keyboard typing this out(yes i look at the key board whilst i type) the blinds on my bedroom window seem to be dancing about to the sounds of the wind.

Should be a great day today. Going to a Breakdancing event held by my brother....then its off to Bakersfield CA to visit my soulmate. Oh how i do miss salina marie corona. Its almost been 4 years together...well we did break apart for 5months...but it was our souls that seem to reach out for one another in the end...just maybe someday soon...i will share all (MOST) of the events that took place during the break up. A VENTING blog one might say.

Anywho, it shall be grand seeing her. As always.

Before i venture out.

I would like to say a few things to a few GREAT people.

Katrina- Time to create new horizons. You were born to Fly/Move mountains.

Delara- May God be with you during your therapy. Your strong and VERY talented. When you get better we really should do a photoshoot together. A collaboration of minds. (:

I bid you farewell.
Until tomorrow...or maybe the day after that.

Peace and GodBless. Always.

Psalm 91: 4-8

4. He shall cover you with his feathers. And under his wings you shall take refuge
5.You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day
6. Nor the pestilence that walks in darkness. Nor the destruction that lays waste at noonday
7. A thousand may fall at your side, and then thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you
8. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked

NObama

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Its Halloween, and what better way to get into the spirit.....TALK politics...or try to for that matter.

I really am unsure at this point on who to vote for..

im narrowing down my choice...

Here are some facts..

1.

Obama will increase Taxes. To benefit what??? He claims that all the tax money will be given to those in need (us more fortunate included to some degree)...but what does that mean??? I heard from a few people that it means the price of just about everything will increase. Food/Clothes/GAS/Real estate...and so on. It will be harder to sell...and even harder to save and invest if the taxes go any higher. It's weird to here this from reporters...or even my 60yr old boss that we (US) might fall into a GREAT DEPRESSION...like that of the 30's. In fact i really dont know what that fully means...but when you put "GREAT" infront of "Depression"....a red flag in my mind goes up. Are we ready for Obamas plans....is HE ready.

2.

McCain....hmm, dont know to much about him other than he was a prisoner of war. Thats a HUGE achievement to survive such an event.(true story, McCain can not lift his arms higher than his shoulders due too broken bones that didnt heal correctly while is was held captive)

Everyone talks about how McCains healths is contstantly declining, will he be capable of doing a 4 year term in office??? and if he doesnt.....that means Sarah Pahlin will be our 1st ever woman president...now, im not sure sarah is ready to lead america. Im not sure america is ready for her???

Those are just my thoughts.

Who will i vote for...

I guess. after some thought.

I will take a chance on McCain.

still dont think the US is ready for Obamas HIGH taxes..

read it last month..

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081007/ap_on_re_as/as_nepal_living_goddess_1

Its crazy. There are SO many thing going on in this world we have yet to discovered....so many things that seem primitive, stuck in the past.

Makes me feel blessed to live in the USA.
Quote of the Day...

"I'd rather lose in a cause that i know some day will triumph than to triumph in a cause that i know some day will fail"
Seriously, i grew up watching this Christmas special. My mother(Elizabeth) recorded it on a VHS.

Man. we watched it every year for about 6years....

CLAYMATIONS. A dying ART.
